Stage 2: Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Filter

The next stage of pre-filtration is a coconut-shell-activated-carbon filter. These are sometimes called charcoal filters, and yes, they are partially made from coconut shells.

Activated carbon is one of the most effective and widely used water filtration mediums because it removes chlorine and other pollutants, improves taste, and eliminates odors.
